The GGPoker Super Million$ series has continued this past week, and there was a very familiar winner of the most recent event. Russian star Anatoly Filatov was crowned the winner of the event, which makes him the most recent winner of the Super Million$ series.
The win saw him outlast 149 other players to get the success, and ensured that he walked away with a huge cash prize from the event. However, many of the players on the final table also claimed considerable cash prizes.
Filatov Outlasts Competition
Filatov was the player that was able to claim the win by finishing top of the leaderboard, and in doing so, he claimed returns of $325,957 in winnings. The Russian was excellent throughout the event, and was a truly deserving winner. Filatov is a legend of the poker world in his homeland, as he has amassed prize money in the region of $5,171,598 throughout his career. That total sees him sit eighth on the all-time money list of players from Russia. Meanwhile, he is the player in 241st overall position on the all-time money list. He is ranked as the eleventh best player, according to the rankings put together by PokerFives.
Filatov was able to hold on to win despite fierce competition in the final stages by Brazilian player Bruno Volkmann. However, the Brazilian needed to settle for the runner-up spot on the final table, which still meant returns of $254,559. Meanwhile, Filatov’s compatriot Sergei Denisov was back in third place on the leaderboard. The second Russian at the final table picked up prize money of $198,800.
The highest placed European player on the leaderboard was UncleToni from Macedonia, who finished in fourth and won returns of $155,254.
