Triton Poker Series Headed for Maestral Resort & Casino
Last Spring the founders of the Triton Poker Series made a tremendous comeback by hosting a magnificent high stakes tournament series at the Maestral Resort and Casino in Montenegro. Since then, the company has gone on to spread its world-class poker philosophy across the globe with more expansion set for this year. Following very successful back-to-back visits to Jeju in South Korea, the Triton Poker Series is finally making a return to Montenegro.
For the very first time in the poker series’ history, it will comprise of a whopping ten events with buy-ins ranging from €11,000 to €110,000 – each of the two Main Events that will take place within the Montenegro series will feature a buy-in fee of €110,000. In addition to that, there are a number of brand-new variants including Short Deck Turbo, Pot-Limit Omaha and No-Limit Hold’em Turbo, that will be available on the event’s roster. The No-Limit Hold’em Main Event will go down as from May 8 to May 10 while the Short Deck Main Event is set to take place on May 15 through to May 17.
Founded by Richard Yong, a Malaysian businessman, philanthropist, and poker aficionado, the Triton Poker Series which has been in operation since 2015 aims to fill in a gap in the exclusive poker tournaments market especially for poker-loving businesspersons as well as professional high roller poker players. To further this agenda, each and every edition of the poker series is set at premium locations all soring the world and therefore attracts some of the biggest names in the world of poker.
Star-Studded Affair
Among the most accomplished Triton Poker Super Higher Roller Series players in is Jason Koon who has built quite the reputation in the world of poker. During last Spring’s Triton Poker Series, he managed to outlast a field of 103 entries thus taking down the HK$1 million Short Deck Ant Only and walking with the HK$28.102 million first-place prize – this is equivalent to about $3,579,836. More recently, Jason Koon took down two titles from the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in South Korea’s Jeju Island – the first was a $2.8 million prize for the HK$1 million Short Deck Ante Only and $973,306 in prize money for the HK$1 million Short Deck Main Event.
His accomplishments in the poker series have also recently earned him a role as Triton Poker Ambassador. Speaking on the upcoming poker event, the poker pro said that he is very excited about the event since Montenegro is by far one of his favorite poker stops.
Other prominent poker players who have featured on the Triton Poker Series include Phil Ivey and Mikita Badziakouski.
