Elio Fox Comes Out On Top In Sunday Million Super High Roller

There was an entertaining Sunday Million Super High Roller event this past weekend. The event took place on Sunday, and Stephen Chidwick eventually finished second. The legendary star was pushing for a victory in the competition, but was just about edged out by Mexican player Elio Fox.

Chidwick would have still been appeased with the returns that he picked up from the event, as he won $333,640 in prize money. Overall, it was a hugely successful event though, with 62 players involved ensuring a prize pot of just over $1.5 million in money available.

Fox Outlasts Chidwick

The vast majority of the prize money on offer was won by players on the final table. Fox finished top of the poker standings, as he eventually cut a deal in the heads-up challenge with Chidwick. The Mexican player topped the field, and won returns of $386,216. However, the deal likely favoured the player that eventually finished the competition in second place, as he walked away with slightly more than he would have without the deal. Pedro Garagnani finished back in third, and was one of three Brazilian players on the final table.

He won returns of $241,166. His compatriot was just below him in the standings, as Rodrigo Sirichuk was fourth overall. That finish still saw him walk away from the event with a considerable prize fund from the event, as he won $185,715. Some huge names were knocked out earlier in the play on the final table. Daniel Dvoress was in fifth overall in the standings, while Yuri Dzivelevski was a place further back. The final two places on the final table were occupied by Spaise411, who finished seventh, and Justin Bonomo, who finished the competition in eighth place.

Dominik Nitsche Claims A Couple Of Cash Wins

Sometimes the best poker players just hit a purple patch when everything seems to click into place. There was certainly evidence of that over the past week, as Dominik Nitsche couldn’t stop winning as he competed in a couple of events. The German star is a four-time WSOP winner, and enjoyed an excellent day at the poker table on Sunday. He claimed a success in the Big Shot High Roller first of all, as he collected prize money of $28,800 after topping a final table consisting of three other players.

His weekend wasn’t over there either, as he came fifth in the Big Shot, as he won returns of $4,389. Gytis Lazauninkas topped that respective field, as the player from Lithuania won returns of just over $17,000. His third and final cash out of the weekend come in the Big Shot 525, as he finished fourth in the standings. That finish saw him win $3,840. Niklas Astedt was in second, and won $7,480. Meanwhile, the winner was GylbertFD, who won $11,200.
