Dakotah O’Dell Outlasts Huge Field To Win RunGood Poker Series Contenders Council Bluffs Main Event

There was a very competitive poker event taking place over the weekend, as the RunGood Poker Series Contenders Council Bluffs Main Event was staged. The huge event saw a field of over 800 players involved, and required a buy-in of $575.

The total number of players involved meant that there was a prize fund of $100,000 up for grabs over the weekend, with a number of players in the hunt for their share of the massive prize fund. However, the field was cut drastically to 137 for the final day of the event, and it was Dakotah O’Dell that stayed on well to win the huge cash prize.

O’Dell Wins Top Prize

In the end it was a famous success for the eventual winner, as O’Dell has ensured his place in the next round of the RunGood ProAm. That event will take place in Las Vegas later on in the year, which means O’Dell will be looking to build momentum between then and now. It was a famous success for the player though, as the win ensured that he was able to double his overall career earnings to date.

Prior to the event, he had won just over $33,000 in career earnings, which meant that the $48,771 winnings for winning this event over the weekend was a massive moment in his career. In truth, he was in control going into the final day of the event, as he held the biggest stack.

There were some shaky moments on the final day, but nothing could stop him from coasting towards the victory to sit top of the tree in the huge event. In doing so, he got his hands on the RGPS Trophy, which would have undoubtedly been a massive moment for him.
