Long-Awaited PokerStars WCOOP Kicks Off on September 5

Ready for more poker action? Well, PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) will be returning on PokerStars this week. The annual online poker series is a favorite among a plethora of poker fans from all around the globe and this year’s run is going to live up to everything that makes it such a big deal for poker lovers.

Set to run as from September 5 through September 25, the online poker series will be offering a whopping 73 events with a record $75 million prize pool – this is the biggest guarantee that the event series has ever offered. The buy-ins for each of the 73 events have been offered in a total of three tiers (low, medium and high) to make them more accessible to players of any bankroll level. Furthermore, poker lovers have had the opportunity to qualify for the WCOOP events through other cheaper means such as satellites and freerolls.

“We aim to give all our players a chance to find a tournament for them. That’s why we are offering a large range of formats, buy-ins and plenty of routes to qualify. The 20-day tournament series is going to be huge for everyone and we can’t wait to see the results,” said PokerStars’ Managing Director & Commercial Officer of Poker, Severin Rasset.

Some of the most notable events will include the Low and High Main Events which will go down on Sunday, September 2. The Low Main Event has a buy-in of only $55 with a $1.25 million guarantee while the High Main Event features a $2,500 buy-in and $10 million prize pool guarantee. Clearly, regardless of your bankroll level, the 2019 PokerStars WCOOP will certainly have something for you.

Additionally, for any person who is interested in participating in charitable courses, the WCOOP will feature a $55 buy-in event on September 8. All the rake that will be collected from this particular event will go toward the “Right to Play Charity.”

The Leaderboards

As mentioned earlier, the event series will further feature more lucrative perks for those that are looking to grind high volumes. These players will be able to rack up points that will then earn them spots on the Low, Medium and High leaderboards. The top three finishers in the leaderboard will be treated to a whopping $50,000 in prize money – the overall leaderboard winner gets to walk away with the biggest share which is a $20,000 payout. They will also be awarded trophies to show just how hard they have been working.
