Criticism Ensues

The list of nominees has been generally received quite well but poker fans have expressed a lot of displeasure with particular categories – the fans believed that some of the nominees in certain categories are undeserving.

The first one is the Vlogger of the Year category that has Doug Polk as one of the nominees. A number of poker fans have stated that poker player is not exactly a vlogger since the last time he published a vlog was in WSOP 2017. Apparently, the members of the Nomination Panel were not aware of this fact.

The Streamer of the Year category has also been criticized for including a Jason Sommerville who, in 2018 (the period that the awards are based on), was not really an active streamer. While Sommerville remains to be one of the top poker ambassadors, poker fans believed that there were more deserving streamers that did not make the cut.
