PokerStars Winter Series Off to a Great Start

The PokerStars Winter Series has just kicked off, and players on the site will be able to look forward to three exciting weeks of online poker action. Until January 13th, there will be over 80 events with a wide range of buy-ins, and players will be able to cash in on their share of $50 million in various prize pools.

PokerStars always ensures that players with different bankrolls can take part in its major tournaments. So, as usual, the site has divided up its Winter Series events into low, medium and high buy-ins. Players will be able to buy tickets for as little as $5.50, and there will be events geared towards high rollers that have buy-ins as high as $10,300.

Spin & Gos offer Winter Series Tickets

One of the great things about this PokerStars tournament series is that tickets can be earned by taking part in Spin & Gos. $4 and $40 Winter Series Spin and Gos are available, and each one offers up different prizes.

From the $4 Spin and Gos, players can win:

  • $5,200 Winter Series Main Event ticket
  •  $215 Winter Series ticket
  •  $109 Winter Series ticket
  •  $55 Winter Series ticket
  •  $22 Winter Series ticket
  •  $11 Winter Series ticket
  •  $8 cash

If you’re playing in the $40 Spin and Gos, you can win:

  • $5,200 Winter Series Main Event ticket
  • $1,050 Winter Series ticket
  • $530 Winter Series ticket
  • $215 Winter Series ticket
  • $109 Winter Series ticket
  • $80 cash

As you can see, the tickets aren’t tied to any particular event. They simply refer to a dollar amount. This is because you can use your ticket to buy into any event of that price. This offers up plenty of flexibility, as there are all sorts of events at each level, include turbo, bounty, six-max, eight-max  events and others.

There are also Daily Spin & Go leaderboards for the $4 and $40 events. These provides you with yet another chance to earn entries. The top players of each leaderboard every day will win entry into $11 to $215 buy-in events.

Winter Series Main Events

There will be three Main Events – one for each buy-in level. Last year, the winner of the high-roller main event landed a prize worth over $360,000 and over 1,100 players entered to generate a prize pool of $2.2 million.

This year, there is sure to be as much excitement and prizes just as generous. Qualifiers and satellites are running every day, so you can play your way to one of the Winter Series main events!
