Bursting on to the Poker Scene

Jack Sinclair only made his first cash in 2017, at the Partypoker Millions tournament in April 2017. The England native didn’t place particularly highly and earned a prize of just £7500 – but it was the start of a great year for Jack.

Since then, Jack has made the money in over 30 other tournaments around the world. It’s been just over a year, and he has certainly made the rounds, earning 1st place in the Aussie Millions Poker Championship and the Irish Poker Open. Now, he’s the champion of the most prestigious poker tournament in the world, and has boosted his all-time tournament winnings to $3.3 million.

It really is a remarkable thing for a player who has only been cashing tournaments for a year to win the WSOP main event. Surely, this is just the beginning of a very successful career.

A Formidable Final Table

Jack entered the final day fourth in chips. At the start of his session, he doubled up through one of the biggest stacks and eventually eliminated Krasimir Yankov. It was definitely a tough final table, as Jack was up against previous WSOP winners like Ryan Riess.

The final table was three-handed for about three hours until Jack was able to go heads-up against Laszlo Bujtas. The final hand saw Bujtas shoved his eight big blinds with Jd7c against Jack’s Qh9c. The flop came down KdQc3h, with Jack making second pair. The 6h and 7c were the final two cards dealt, leaving Jack the winner of the whole event.

Jack is thrilled with his experience in the tournament, saying it gone more smoothly than he could have imagined. He stated that he never really lost a big pot and got lucky when he needed to. Jack says:

“Every time I felt like things were getting precarious, I instantly won a big pot. I’m very happy with how I played and even more happy with how I ran!”

Now, Jack has become the second British player to win a World Series of Poker Europe Main Event. He is also the third player to make his top career cash at a WSOP final.

With an impressive first year under his belt, Jack Sinclair is sure to go on to have amazing career. He certainly has a successful career ahead of him, and we can’t wait to see which tournament he’ll take down next.
