Final Nominees To Enter The WSOP Hall Of Fame Revealed

There is no bigger honour in the world of poker than being named among the nominees to enter the WSOP Hall of Fame. It is the peak for players and other figures that are respected in the game, as it means that they are rewarded and their legacy sustained for generations to come. The nominees that will be among the players that could potentially be inducted this year have been announced, with the voting set to open.

The announced figure that will be entering the Hall of Fame will not be announced until the 30th December, but there are some of the most prominent figures among those that have been recognised with a nomination in 2020.

Final Nominees Revealed

Fans of poker that look out for the Hall of Fame nominees every year will not be shocked by some of the players that have been included, as some of the players on the shortlist have been nominated in the past. Some of the players have even been nominated on numerous occasions in the past. One of the nominations that players will be delighted to see make the cut this year are Norman Chad and Lon McEachern.

The duo have been recognised for the commentating on WSOP events over the last couple of years. Fans quickly posted their delight at their acknowledgement, with many applauding their dedication to the game and citing that as a reason why their love of the game has grown over the past decade. Many of the names on the list have been nominated on numerous occasions, but one of the exceptions to that rule is Patrik Antonius. The Finnish player has been nominated for the first time, and an induction to the Hall of Fame would be an excellent way to end his year, after he has already cashed out in eleven WSOP events this year.

Other Names Included On The List

One of the names that has already received huge backing from some prominent players has been Isai Scheinberg. The nominee is the founder of PokerStars, and one of the prominent figures that has already supported his nomination is Daniel Negreanu. The poker star revealed that the PokerStars founder received all ten of his votes this year, and cited that his reason behind this was due to the innovations that he made for the game.

In total, there were ten players that were nominated to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Eli Elezra, Antonio Esfandiari, Chris Ferguson and Ted Forrest were among the other players rewarded with nominations. Meanwhile, Mike Matusow, Matt Savage and Huckleberry Seed rounded off the nominations. The final decision about the star that will be the inductee for 2020 will be announced at the end of this month. The decision regarding the person that will be entering the Hall of Fame will be decided by the remaining Poker Hall of Fame members. These 31 inductees will be able to allocate ten points as they see fit.
