Rheem Nearly Misses WPTDeepStacks Title

Chino Rheem

Chino Rheem came very close to winning the WPT DeepStacks title in Amsterdam. He would have been the first member of the World Poker Tour Champions club to win the Deepstacks main event. However, he finished fourth place. The World Poker Tour Champions Club has never had a win in the World Poker Tour DeepStacks main event, so it would have been a nice feat to gain the title.

Rheem was among 249 other players, who created a prize pool of 326,000 euros with their buy-in of 1,500 euros. Rheem was the most experienced player at the table, due to a compilation of $9 million in tournament winnings over his career. You would think he would win the tournament just by sheer knowledge. But, perhaps his fourth place win shows poker is a game of chance after all. With seven other players at the table, Rheem had to go to the rail after falling out of the game in fourth place.

Christos Economides was also in the tournament. In the final portion of the game, Christos went head to head with Paul Theobald. They each had 3.76 million and 2.495 million chips on the table, respectively. Theobald was never able to turn the tide and gain the win. Economides was able to gain a victory with Hendon Mob Cash and is the first time winner of the World Poker Tour DeepStacks. The events were held at Holland Casino.

Now while the chips might have stacked high, the winnings for the final table put Christos in possession of 74,760 euros and Theobald winning 52,535 euros. Chino Rheem walked away with a little over 20,000 euros. The win did get his entry fee back and a little cash besides.

Florida High Roller Tourney

Meanwhile, Brandon Adams was over in Florida enjoying the $25,000 Super High Roller. The game was hosted at the Seminole Hard Rock casino as part of the Poker Showdown. Unlike, Rheems, Adams won his tournament. The prize pool for this game was $1 million, with forty players making it to the game. Adams went against Pablo Fernandez to win getting $370,000 for the first prize.

Fernandez walked away with $240,000 as a win. Other names at the table included Barry Hutter, Ajay Chabra, Darran Elias, and Shaun Deeb, in order of their winning place.

Joining the latest winners, Adams is among names like Same Greenwood in recent high-roller tournament wins.
