Jessica Dawley Won Ladies NLHM Event

Jessica Dawley took the win in the No Limit Hold-em Ladies Event.

Jessica is a 35 year old, who is a poker pro. She was able to defeat 696 people and gain the first bracelet in the World Series of Poker, she has ever had. Dawley played the Ladies event and will take home over $130k. Dawley has won quite a few tournaments, but most of them do not provide over $100k in winnings. Her career earnings are just under a million at $733,413.

When asked, she was unable to really put the win into words. Jessica said she kept sitting at the table, looking at the boxes with the bracelet photos and trying to keep her head in the game. She wanted to be a winner at the end of the day. After ten years, Jessica has finally managed to win a World Series of Poker bracelet.

She entered on the last day of the event, in second position, with ten players at the table. Her chip position gave her a good start. Danielle Andersen was looking pretty good too, but Dawley was able to have a king-high straight over Danielle’s queen high straight. Andersen went out in tenth position. Dawley started taking the lead, despite Jill Pike sitting in the chip lead.

Both Pike and Dawley were keeping pace, knocking out other players, such as Molly Mossey. Mossey was a poker reporter, who left the game in eighth place. Weiyi Mo was taken out in seventh place.

Dawley was able to get the next elimination by playing against Tara Cain. Cain thought she might have a good hand, but, Dawley’s was better. So, Cain left the game in sixth place.

Jill was still in the chip lead, playing against Jacqueline Burkhart in the next round, and sent her to the rail in fifth place. Lisa Fong was holding her own and managed to bust Mesha James.

The game was down to Fong, Pike, and Dawley. Fong was shoved out when Dawley had a better hand. Then it was head to head with the chip leader and second place leader. Pike ultimately sent all her chips in with a King and 4, but Dawley had the better set against the flop.
