The online action got underway on Monday with a huge win being picked up by Swedish star Niklas Astedt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was also big winnings picked up by other poker stars over the first couple of days of 2022, including Chris Moorman, Dario Sammartino and Alex Foxen, who all placed in the money positions of the GGPoker event named the Sunday HR Main Event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"astedt-starts-year-with-win\">Astedt Starts Year With Win<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the event online was dominated by the Swedish player, who looked to be in complete control from the early proceedings. Astedt claimed the victory and picked up a six-figure sum on his first <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneypokersites.com\/news\/european-poker-tour-online-in-full-swing\/\">poker event<\/a> of the new year. In total, the Swedish player won $108,655 for his performance in the event, and it was the very least that he deserved from the stunning GGPoker performance that he put in. Over 690 players were involved in the event online, but only the players in the top 98 positions were able to claim a piece of the prize pot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moorman was able to walk away from the event with returns, but he missed out on his place at the final table after being knocked out just before the final nine took their places. Astedt was the only player in the event to win a six-figure sum, with second-place Simon Mattson picking up returns of $83,128. It was a fine battle between the two Swedish stars in the final exchanges, but few would have argued against Astedt deserving his first win of 2022, as he looks for yet another dominant year at the poker table. Few would bet against that at present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"final-table-standings\">Final Table Standings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Astedt and Mattsson weren\u2019t the only big winners at the HR Main Event, as many of the players on the final table also picked up decent returns for their excellent performances. There was a great level of difficulty in reaching the final table of the event, as there was a sizable field of players involved in the competition. However, all nine of the players on the final table would have been appeased with the returns that they were able to pick up in the GGPoker event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Andreas Christoforou finished in ninth place in the standings, and won $12,753. Other players that finished high in the standings included Leonard Maue and Lachezar Petkov. Canadian player 77Storm77 won over $28,400 for his performance when finishing sixth, while Sergei Denisov picked up $27,225 after finishing fifth in the event. Kingmav9111 enjoyed an excellent showing as he finished in fourth place. The player from Malta won $48,657 in returns.
