The <strong>new Tournament Dollars (T$) <\/strong>model provides\nplayers with a flexible option that allows them to buy into any event they\nwant. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Normally, when you win an online poker qualifier (or \u201csatellite\u201d),\nyou\u2019ll win a ticket into a specific event. The ticket that you win can only be\nused in that particular tournament. Tournament Dollars do away with satellites,\nso <strong>players can choose which events they want to enter<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-tournament-dollars-work\">How Tournament Dollars Work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On October 27, there will no longer be satellite tournaments. Instead of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/davidschwartz\/2018\/07\/09\/how-to-get-to-the-world-series-of-poker-final-table\/#394dc3e869b4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"winning free tickets from satellites (opens in a new tab)\">winning free tickets from satellites<\/a>, players will be able to win Tournament Dollars (T$). These can then be used to purchase entry into <strong>any multi-table tournament<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tournament Dollars are <strong>totally flexible<\/strong>, as well. You\ncan use T$ to buy entry into different tournament dollars. So, for example, if you\nhave T$200, you can buy entry into two $50 events and one $100 event. You can\nuse them in any online partypoker tournament, but your tournament dollars will\nexpire 12 months after you receive them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The idea of launched Tournament Dollars comes from the success of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneypokersites.com\/news\/shao-takes-first-in-partypoker-live-millions\/\">partypoker LIVE<\/a> $$$, which was launched in April 2019. The new currency provides players with the opportunity to buy into partypoker LIVE tournaments, as well as pay for travel and expenses when visiting locations abroad to play in partypoker events. John Duthie, partypoker LIVE president, said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe spent a lot of last year listening to players and one of\nthe most common gripes about the online to LIVE satellite route has always been\ngetting locked into specific events when circumstances may change. Enter\nPPL$$$.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The model worked out quite well, so partypoker decided to apply\nit to all tournaments instead of just LIVE events. So, players should be\npleased with the concept of Tournament Dollars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you really miss satellite tournaments, there will be some\nevents that follow the old formula. Some <strong>satellites will be available<\/strong>\nthat will provide players with entry into the Power Series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"flexible-options-for-all-players\">Flexible Options for All Players <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tournament Dollars offer players more options and flexibility\nthan traditional tournaments. Sometimes, players will receive satellite tickets\ninto events that they end up not being able to attend. There are some situations\nwhere they simply don\u2019t want to take part in the event, and <strong>Tournament\nDollars will solve these issues<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There\u2019s just over a week until Tournament Dollars are\nlaunched.
