The tournament provided a guarantee of a $20 million which was smashed with its prize pool quickly soaring past that figure to reach a whopping $21.8 million. It also attracted a field of 4,637 players. Both figures broke a number of tournament records making the event quite a big deal in the online gaming community. In fact,<strong> it remains to be the largest ever online poker tournament on the planet.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moneypokersites.com\/news\/partypoker-unveils-new-diamond-club-elite-for-top-players\/\">PartyPoker<\/a> plans to replicate the success the online poker operator had in December 2018 by bringing back the MILLIONS Online tournament from November 24. <strong>Set to go down for a total of 12 days, the tournament is also expected to have many day 1s.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;A Brief History of the\nMILLIONS Tournament<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The very first MILLIONS tournament took place back in 2017 but it was nowhere near as grand as the more recent events \u2013 the guaranteed prize pool only stood at $5 million. Even so, it still managed to attract a total of 1,047 entries which made it the company&#8217;s largest tournament at the time. Having been received so well, the tournament&#8217;s next run featured a guarantee that was four times the amount that was included the previous year and this was the $20 million guarantee that broke records last year. It also marked the very first time that the online poker operator had ever carried such a huge guarantee and with it, the company managed to quickly <a href=\"https:\/\/calvinayre.com\/2018\/12\/28\/poker\/2019-poker-predictions-2-emergence-pokers-long-tail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"soar past PokerStars (opens in a new tab)\">soar past PokerStars<\/a> which previously held the top spot for having hosted the largest online poker tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The $20 million guarantee aside, PartyPoker also broke the record for the highest number of millionaires made in a poker tournament \u2013 a total of four poker players were made from this. Also, i<strong>t also boasts of a record turnout for a $5,300 buy-in.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"what-to-expect-in-2019\">What to Expect in 2019<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At the moment the online poker operator is yet to reveal the\nbuy-ins and other details of the 2019 tournament. However, there is speculation\nthat the MILLIONS tournaments including the\nonline version will have a new doubled $10,300.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u201cLast year\u2019s MILLIONS Online broke records and soared past the original guarantee to generate nearly $2M more than anticipated!
